Different Resume Formats: Which One is Right for Me?

Resume writing services like mine will often format the information in resumes for different clients in different ways. This is done in line with their career goals or desired occupation. Below, I have added the three main formats used in resume writing.

The Reverse-Chronological Resume: This format brings experience to the forefront, highlighting your expertise. It is used for those who do not have a specific career in mind.

The Functional Resume: Functional formatting of your resume highlights your skills and softens your work experience. It showcases your transferable skills, where work experience in a specific area may be lacking. This format is often used by those with gaps in their employment or who are trying to change careers.

The Hybrid Resume: This formatting type showcases both your skills and experience. It is easier to tailor to specific roles and is great for those who are entering the workforce, changing careers, or returning to work.
