Resumes vs CVs: What’s The Difference? Which is Best for Me?
The line between a resume and curriculum vitae can be hard to define for those who don’t know the difference.
Put simply, a curriculum vitae is a detailed and comprehensive document that lists academic credentials, your career history, accomplishments & achievements and publications you may have written or contributed to in some way. Every time you achieve something new or complete academia, you must include it in great detail. These documents vary in length and are often over five pages in length. CVs are good for professional academics, lecturers and researchers.
On the other hand, a resume is a one-to-two-page summary of your work history, education, achievements and skills. Your resume should be updated every time you complete a new course, start or finish a new job or achieve something new. These documents are no longer than one-to-three pages generally. When I create resumes for my clients, I don’t go over three. Resumes are great for executives and entry-level, blue and white-collar workers.
